Ali Çalışkan

Ali Çalışkan studied architecture at Bursa Uludağ University. Starting with the Archiprix Turkey Prize, he has since earned numerous awards in architectural competitions and is also a recipient of the prestigious “Europe 40under40®” Award for 2023-2024, which celebrates the world’s most promising talents in architecture and design, along with their groundbreaking projects.

Early in his career, Ali joined Tabanlıoğlu Architects, where he spent over 17 years as a key member of the design development team. His extensive experience includes leading projects of varying scales, from masterplans and high-rise buildings, stadium projects to cultural centers, and high-end hospitality projects to installations, from initial concept to execution.

In 2022, Ali co-founded GEOMIM, where he continues to develop projects of varying scales and typologies. His work focuses on re-establishing meaningful connections between humans and nature, emphasizing cultural heritage and sustainable solutions. Leading the design teams at GEOMIM, Ali's approach integrates cultural background and sustainability, aiming to maintain the essence of local spirit and traditions.

Beyond his professional practice, Ali lectures and participates in design studio jury panels at various universities in Turkey. He is interested in the intersection of art, technology, and architecture, and he also practices architectural photography and filmmaking. Ali's work continues to push the boundaries of design, creating innovative and sustainable architectural solutions.
